What you will be doing:

  • Preparing and present food for range of services including breakfast, sandwich and buffet lunches, dinners as directed by Regional Executive Chef and Lounge Manager.
  • Monitor and replenish the buffet counters during main service period
  • Ensure adequate level of preparation is left for next shift. 
  • Receiving deliveries and verifying that all ordered items have been delivered and are of good quality.
  • Taking inventory of lounge supplies and notifying the supervisor of low or depleted supplies.
  • To be responsible for weekly stocktaking, including the reconciliation of all stock transfers. 
  • Discarding all expired and spoiled food items stored in the stock rooms, refrigerators, and freezers.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
  • Performing basic cleaning duties and ensuring that workstations are properly sanitized.
  • Helping with deliveries and restocking.
  • To ensure that routine servicing of all kitchen equipment is carried out with contracted maintenance providers.
  • Be reliable and self-motivated with a strong work ethic.

Please note: You should have a minimum up to 1 year previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

You must have:

  • Relevant certification - minimum Certificate III in Commercial Cookery 
  • Proven commercial kitchen experience  
  • Sound knowledge of food health and safety regulations
